British Clays Course Design
The British built the first Clays Shooting Grounds in the 1800s in order to practice for wing shooting in all of its forms. The original courses were comprised of eight to ten individual fields, each offering several shooting stations set up to represent a specific wing shooting theme.
These fields can be shot for practice, used for instruction or, using a series of fifteen stations, can be shot as a sporting clays course. This design format allows a great variety of challenging target presentations within a relatively compact area.
The famous London Shooting Grounds are all built on this theme. West London and Holland and Holland, two of the finest Shooting Grounds in the world, did not happen by chance but through the knowledge gleaned over 100 years of target setting experience.
This experience is part and parcel of every Chris Batha British Clays Course. Each innovative design and layout makes the most of the terrain on which it is built. Then, utilizing natural landscaping and state of the art equipment as well as staff selection and training, the result is an exciting course design of the discerning wing shooter and sporting clays competitor in all disciplines.
